My name is Debbie Ding; I was born & grew up in Shanghai and now reside in New Jersey.
Since 2015, I have dedicated myself to photography, trained under Beijing Film Academy mentors and veteran street photographers, online, on-location, in workshops.
My journey began with landscapes, later expanding into documentary, street photography, surrealism, and multi-exposure experimentation.
My work spans travel, portraiture and strong emphasis on fashion and atmosphere.
Natural light and subtle details are central to my practice, creating images that feel both poetic and cinematic.
I use restrained language, clear structure, and rhythmic space to explore photography as a way of observing, remembering, and thinking.
Literature, painting, music, film, and art history shape the way I see, while photography becomes the medium through which I enter into an ongoing dialogue with these influences.
