Teen Advisory Board
Membership for 2026 is CLOSED. Candidates will be notified via email of their application status.
Want to flex your creativity? Willing to take initiative? Ready to build a community? Need volunteer hours? Well, if you only said yes to the last one, move on! Plainsboro Public Library is looking for teens who want to take action.
What is a Teen Advisory Board?
This is your chance to take charge and make a change. As a member of TAB, you will work with the librarians and your peers to create programs, displays, and resources that follow the library’s mission of inclusivity and education. You will be a voice for yourself and community for what is wanted and needed in the library.
What do we (the library) expect?
We want you to WANT to be here. We need you to be ready to try new things or think in different ways. If you’re just here to check off something for your resume and move on, then this isn’t for you.
Meetings will be twice a month. Attendance is MANDATORY. Reasonable* absences will be accepted, but if it’s made into a habit we will suggest taking a hiatus or stepping down. Remember, your well being comes first.
*Reasonable = illness, family event, appointments, mental health
Unreasonable = wanted to take a nap instead, forgot, just wasn’t feeling it, vibes were off
So, just twice a month? Sounds easy.
SIKE! Those are just our meetings. You will be expected to take part in library engagement outside of those two meet-ups. This can include volunteering at a program, running your own program, working on displays, making content for the library social media page, and so on. Remember that creative part? This is where it’s important.
