JerseyCat InterLibrary Loan

Can’t find the item you’re looking for through our regular catalog?
Try JerseyCat interlibrary loan, which searches New Jersey libraries outside of Middlesex and out-of-state libraries as well!
Please note:
  • To request a JerseyCat item through Plainsboro, you must have a Plainsboro library card (with a library card number that begins with 29303.) Otherwise, please request the item through your home library–they likely have JerseyCat access, too!
  • Please check our catalog before placing a hold through JerseyCat. It is faster to receive items through our local Middlesex County system.
  • Please understand that libraries may not be willing to loan an item even if it appears in a JerseyCat search. We will do our best to request the item for you, but cannot guarantee that the request will be granted.
  • UPDATED 10/6/2024: JerseyCat holds will only appear on your regular library account once Plainsboro Library receives the item. Prior to that, please call us at 609-275-2898 ext. 2 for any status updates regarding your request. We will contact you if no libraries are willing to loan it; otherwise, you will receive a notification through the automated system once it’s available for pick-up just like you do regular holds.
  • UPDATED 10/6/2024: JerseyCat loans cannot be renewed on your own. Please give us a call at 609-285-2898 ext. 2 to request a renewal.

If you have any further questions, please give our Information Services department a call at 609-275-2898 ext. 2, or email us at plibrary@plainsborolibrary.org.
