Katha (Story)
Artist Statement: As an artist, I draw inspiration from the rich heritage of Madhubani painting, an ancient art form from the Mithila region of India. My work reflects a deep connection to nature, featuring intricate patterns and vibrant depictions of flora, fauna, and natural elements that celebrate the harmony between humans and the environment. While I honor the traditional methods and motifs of Madhubani art, I also seek to push its boundaries by incorporating modern influences and nuanced, contemporary themes. My paintings often explore the intersection of traditional folklore with modern-day narratives, adding fresh perspectives to age-old stories. Through this fusion of the old and the new, I aim to create a dynamic dialogue that resonates with today’s audience, inviting them to discover the timeless beauty and evolving spirit of Madhubani art.
