It’s a Beautiful World
Photos by Jeff Sayre
In one word, “gratitude”.
I’m grateful for my sight. For the gift of the sun bringing light to us each day, allowing us to see all the amazing beauty around us. We are surrounded daily by miracles. I hope I have succeeded in capturing and sharing some of them with you today. And by sharing some of these miracles with you, I have succeeded in bringing you a measure of hope.
To me there is a profound “rightness” about a good photograph. When I began seriously photographing 22 years ago, I drew my early inspiration from Ansel Adams. I admired his stunning use of light and dark, careful composition, his incredible eye seeing things most people miss and his faithful work capturing so much of our country’s natural beauty.
I spent most of my business career in the healthcare industry in marketing, new product development and strategic planning. My career required major elements of planning, communication and visualization. All of these served as “basic training” contributing to my passion for photography.
After retiring, I found my photography well-received, winning top placements in numerous local juried competitions, (South Brunswick Arts Commission, Ocean Camera Club), regional competitions (Grounds for Sculpture, Artists Guild of Red Bank, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society) and well as national and international events (Photographic Society of America and the annual Wilmington Art Shows).
