In 2025, Plainsboro Library launched a new three-year Strategic Plan shaped by extensive community input to guide how we grow, connect, and serve our diverse community.

Why This Plan Exists: A Community-Driven Need

Findings from our survey show that Plainsboro is one of New Jersey’s most diverse communities, shaping how residents access information, education, and resources.

Welcoming, Flexible Spaces

Building on lessons from YES Project renovation, the Library will:

  • Expand quiet study zones for students and remote workers
  • Incorporate flexible seating and multipurpose areas
  • Pursue accessible design for patrons of all ages and abilities

Embracing Evolving Literacies

The Library will keep expanding support for:

  • Digital literacy, responsible use of AI, and online safety
  • Financial literacy, helping patrons make sound economic choices
  • Health literacy, helping patrons consume reliable information

Financial Sustainability

To remain financially strong, the Library will continue to:

  • Maintain strong public funding and grant opportunities
  • Advance donations via Plainsboro Public Library Foundation
  • Explore earned income where appropriate

Cross-Generational Community Building

Via programs and partnerships, the Library will provide:

  • Programs that connect generations
  • Celebrations that reflect Plainsboro’s cultural diversity
  • Learning, mentoring, and storytelling opportunities
