A Walk Down Plainsboro Memory Lane

For the 2021 Summer Learning Challenge at Plainsboro Public Library, we asked adult participants to share some of their favorite Plainsboro memories. Here is what they shared:

Around and About Outside

  • I’ve been going to the Plainsboro Preserve for over ten years now, and the staff have always been kind and inviting. It is a wonderful place for children and adults to learn about our environment and how best we can protect it. I have made memories there that will last me a lifetime. – Anonymous
  • My favorite memory at Plainsboro is traveling along the different trails, like the Lenape Trail, and running around the various parks, especially Morris-Davison Park. I really appreciate the natural beauty of Plainsboro. – Anonymous
  • In Plainsboro, me and my kids did stream cleaning altogether. And I volunteered in founders day and made new friends. – Bhavisha Patel
  • I love visiting Plainsboro Preserve. It’s NJ Audubon, and we’re members now as a result! – Jenni Collins
  • I love Plainsboro for its beauty. There are so many things like Rivers, Lakes, Farmlands, Plainsboro Preserve, etc., which give peace to us. – Shanmugapriya Veerapathiran

Activities and Events

  • A memory I have of Plainsboro is when I went to the fair in front of the library with my children. It was one of the first memories I made in Plainsboro after we moved here. – Rajani Yelamkonda
  • I remember marching in the parade to celebrate the new location of the library opening when my oldest child was in a stroller. – Anonymous
  • Taking the kids to Founders Day (before Covid) has been memorable every year. – Anonymous
  • The 50-year or 100-year celebration at Wicoff school. – Anonymous
  • Last year during the Halloween season, we had great fun participating in a ghost hunting activity and going to the drive-in movie night. Especially during a difficult time, and the township managed to create fun events for us to do. My family really enjoyed the experience. – Yu Liu

Visiting the Plainsboro Public Library

  • I love the library, and before Covid, we used to go there every single day. Because of Covid, we could not visit every single day, but we do go once in a while when we get the chance. – Anonymous
  • Our most favorite place is the library cause we love books and love how the feel of the library is, seeing the wonderful books. – Anonymous
  • Plainsboro is a beautiful place, with a great library, lot of events for kids and everyone. – Vinitha G
  • I love the town. It’s away from the hustle of city life in the middle of the beautiful garden state of New Jersey. The best place here is the library. It’s very big with an enormous collection of books and online resources that helped us stay in touch with our learning process over the pandemic. – Chudamani Gundumalla

Thank you to all of our library patrons and Summer Learning Challenge participants for sharing your memories!
