Girl’s STEM Club
October 1, 2, 15, 16, 29 | 3:30pm-4:30pm
Join local Girl Scout Eshani Banerjee as she teaches STEM concepts to girls in 4th-7th grade over Zoom. This program will take place over five dates in October and five dates in November. Registering commits you to the first five dates in October.
Virtual Chess Club
October 4 | 4:30pm-5:30pm
Students are invited to come and learn about the finer points of chess with former Chess Club President, Larry Li.
There will be no live one-on-one chess playing at this event. Instead, strategy and other aspects of chess will be discussed, including chess resources. For 1st-5th graders.
Elementary School Book Club
October 5, 12, 19, 26 | 4:30pm-5:30pm
In this book club run by local girl scout Lakshmi Palani, third, fourth, and fifth graders embark on their reading journey, reading all kinds of books (from non-fiction to fantasy!) and sharing their thoughts and ideas with others. There are also fun activities to remember each book by and trustworthy reading skills to be learned! With a new book each month, this book club is a super exciting way to travel into new worlds for grades 3-5th. Meetings will be held over Zoom.
Book for October: The Witches by Roald Dahl
We will hold books behind the children’s desk. You will be issued a special library card to check out these books. When you pick up the book, we will need your child’s name and your phone number, and email. These books will be due at the end of the month on November 1.
Registering means you commit to attending each date in October.
Outdoor Moving Stories

Musical Stories

3-D Printing Introduction

Learn the basics of Tinkercad and the basics of 3D printing! This program will be held on the third-floor balcony. For grades 4th-8th. Requisite: basic computer skills
Outdoor Lapsit Storytime

Join Librarian Liz in an OUTDOOR lapsit storytime at the fountain outside of the Library! Weather permitting, please register to receive a zoom link if the weather is bad. For ages 0-1 ½. Everyone is required to wear a mask (age 3 and up) and maintain proper social distancing.
Balloon Rocket Zoom
October 13 | 4:30pm-5:30pm
Pick up your balloon rocket kit for the program starting October 9, then sign up for this program to learn more about it and show your rocket off! Kits and space for program limited.
Balancing Bird: Gravity

In this program, you will learn about gravity by assembling a paper bird to demonstrate the center of gravity. This program will be held outside on the balcony on the third floor. For grades 2nd-5th.
Musical Stories LIVE

Join Miss Emily and Piano Player Bill for a special live, outdoor Halloween-themed edition of Musical Storytime. Participants are encouraged to provide their own seating for the program (lawn chairs, blankets, etc.).
Books and Crafts

Meet Librarian Liz outside on the 3rd-floor patio for stories, songs, and a craft! Designed for children 3-5 years, all families are welcome to attend. Weather permitting, please register to receive a Zoom link if there is inclement weather. Everyone age 3 and up is required to wear a mask and maintain proper social distancing.
Halloween Parade and Costume Contest!
October 30 | 1:45pm-3:00pm
Join us for a Halloween Parade! Dress up in your costume and show it off as we parade around the grass outside of the library. Stay for the costume contest after the parade! Our librarian judges will pick the most creative and fun costumes. Third, second and first place will win a prize!
Families, bring chairs and blankets to sit and watch! The parade will begin at 2:00pm. Please arrive early to line up. The costume contest will start after the parade. For all ages. Registration is limited.
