Score Princeton: Improve Safety & Manage Risks for your Small Business Without Going Broke

In this interactive workshop, attendees will gain an introduction to risk management and recognizing hazards, resources to protect their interests and mitigate risk and ideas to kick-start their risk management program.

In addition, attendees will work through 3 types of workplace scenarios (restaurant, construction and office) to discover how to practically apply the knowledge and resources and plan next steps. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

  • The Basics of Hazard Recognition
  • What is an “Oh-No Second”?
  • Critical Success Factors for Safety
  • Small Businesses and Mental Health
  • Three Cost and Incidence Calculators and Data Tools
About the Presenter

Wayne Baruch is an expert in environmental and occupational health and safety, as well as an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer. He has worked in a full spectrum of business consulting across industries and sectors over 20+ years. He retired from a major NJ commercial/industrial electrical contractor as its Director of Safety. During his tenure, the company was awarded one of “America’s Top-10 Safest Companies” by EHS Today. Wayne teaches that Health & Safety Plans (HASP’s), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA’s), Pre-Task Plans (PTP’s), etc., must be practical, foresighted, and make a best effort to protect all stakeholders’ interests. Wayne uses expertise in OSHA, EPA, DEP, NFPA, DOT, and Uniform Construction Code rules/ regulations to help ensure that workplaces comply with all federal, state & local regulations. Wayne is a certified SCORE mentor with SCORE Princeton.
