Civilizations: Showcasing the Cultural Diversity of India
India, a land of diverse cultures, traditions, and history, is a vibrant amalgamation of influences from across the globe. This blend of civilizations is the focus of the exhibition which aims to present an intriguing and distinct view of India’s splendor, depicted through various facets of its people, festivals, cultural heritage, architecture, and natural beauty. “Civilizations” is not just an exhibition it is a journey through the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of India. It offers a unique perspective on the vibrant and diverse civilizations that make up India.
About the artist:
Sanjay Marathe, born in Mumbai, India is a self-taught photographic artist. His journey with photography began at the young age of thirteen, evolving from a hobby into a lifelong passion. His favorite subjects include landscapes, cityscapes, historical monuments and places, architecture, nature, people, and abstracts. He firmly believes that “light, subject, and composition need to be captured at the precise moment, else the magic disappears.” He debuted with a solo exhibition at the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai in 2013. Currently, Sanjay divides his time between Mumbai and Jersey City showcasing his work.
The show will open on Saturday, November 4th and end on Saturday, December 23. Come out to meet Sanjay Marathe during the “Meet the Artist” session, Saturday, November 4th at 1p.
