Come celebrate the Year of the Pig at the Plainsboro Library! Our celebration will span the weekend of February 9th-10th, with many things to do and see for visitors of all ages and nationalities.

On Saturday, February 9th, at 12:00 PM, talented artist Jun Zhan will hold an art reception for his exhibition of amazingly  watercolors in the Art Gallery.

At 1:45 PM, we open with a festive dragon dance performed by the fabulous veteran dragon dance team of Huaxia Chinese School at Plainsboro.

It will be followed by music, dance and other Chinese cultural performances in the library’s 1st floor Community Room at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are free and will be handed out starting at 1:30 PM in the 1st floor Cafe area. One ticket per person in line, including kids.

On Sunday, February 10th, at 12:00 PM, watch the community’s wonderful Chinese artists and calligraphers perform demonstrations of Chinese brush painting and calligraphy in the 1st floor Cafe area. Not far away, Ms. Allison Kwok will teach Chinese knotting and Ms. Pat Helck will lead kids in a craft in the 1st floor main area.

In the 1st floor Community Room, learn how to write Chinese calligraphy yourself, or create your own elaborate Peking Opera mask!

Starting at 2:00 PM, our games and riddles will also go live in the 1st floor Community Room. Earn tickets for each game you win or riddle you guess, and exchange them for prizes!
